Site Build It (SBI) vs. Blogging

Should New Internet Marketers Use Site Build It or Start A Blog?

Ok, the basis of internet attraction marketing is getting the word out about you and your business.  But what is the best way to do that?

There have been a lot of folks talking about the virtues of building a website verses starting a blog lately and I thought I’d chime in.

Site Build It vs. A Blog.

First off,  let me say that though sometimes they look the same there really is a difference between these two network marketing tools, a website and a blog.

Websites are seen by the web community and especially the search engines as something “permanent”.  By that I mean the information is not necessarily “time sensitive”.  You can and should be writing about things that will have relevance today and three years from now.

Blogs on the other hand are traditionally filled with more transient information… Which is why the search engines like Google tend to find, list and rank blog pages quicker than website pages.  The downside is… because the information is seen as “time sensitive” the lovely rankings Google gives don’t usually last for long.

Now, about Site Build It…

I LOVE my SBI site (Soy-Candle-Business.com… yes that’s a shameless plug ;)  It taught me how to find and use keywords properly.  SBI also taught me to get over my fear of writing.  Dr. Ken taught me that it didn't matter if I flunked 8th grade English and wouldn't know a predicate if it bit me on the nose.  Writing on the web was a totally different kettle of fish.  And, the stuff I learned at SBI has really helped me with my Renegade University efforts.

That being said...Building an SBI site is a HUGE learning curve if you don't already know about such things.  And building traffic can take a long time.  Their mascot isn’t a tortoise for nothing…LOL

On the other hand the SBI Action Guide is FABULOUS and in many ways even better than Renegade Universities tutorials at explaining how to build a website. (no please... no one yell at me… because the SBI action guide covers very different material I don't feel disloyal saying that).

Ok, the deal on blogs…

Blogs are comparatively easy to slap up but they are also VERY easy to MESS up if you don't know what you are doing...  However according to Mike network marketing with a blog that’s mess is not necessarily a bad thing.  And with blogs you can pay as you go so it's not a huge chunk of change out of your pocket up front.

Bottom line, if you're looking for instant gratification and a place to get information out in a hurry then you should go with a Blog.  I recommend you try blogging here on  SquareSpace.  It’s what I use because with the journaling features they offer you really can have the best of both worlds and turn your blog INTO a website…(but more on that in another post ;)

Site Build It  provides the most amazing education on building a website I've ever seen.  If this is what you're looking for then SBI is definitely the way to go.  The knowledge you’ll get by following the SBI Action Guide is equal to a college degree.  And, Personally I think the tools, like "BrainStorm It", that you get with your SBI site alone are worth way more than the $25 a month the whole package costs.

Seriously though… in a perfect world… Do both!
